Vahid H Khiabani currently is an Assistant Professor of Engineering Technology at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU), where he serves as Graduate Coordinator of Engineering Management. Previously he worked as Assistant Professor of Operations Management at Minnesota State University Moorhead (MSUM). He received his PhD in Industrial Engineering from North Dakota State University (NDSU) in 2014 after completing his dissertation on Smart Grid Optimization, and in the same year he joined MSUM. During his doctoral program, he was working as a research and teaching assistant in Department of Industrial Engineering, and has conducted several Department of Veterans Affairs (VA); Veterans Health Administration (VHA) and a National Science Foundation (NSF) funded research projects. His current research interests include Operations Research, Power System Optimization, Healthcare Process Improvement, Mathematical and Probabilistic Modelling, Heuristics, Lean & Six Sigma.

 

In Fall 2006, he joined Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) in Cyprus for graduate studies. He completed his M.S. in Industrial Engineering in August 2008. During his Master programs, he was working as a teaching assistant in Department of Industrial Engineering. His masterís dissertation was on warranty cost modeling. In August 2004, he received his B.S. degree in Applied Mathematics from Azad University Tabriz.
